The Helen Taft Cherry tree is a fantastic flowering cherry tree variety named after a female trailblazer in the early 1900's who also happened to be the wife of President Howard Taft. She was one of the key people who helped create the Cherry Blossom arboretum along the Potomac river bordering Washington DC and Virginia. This specimen is a outstanding flowering tree specimen, and would look great in a grouping, or in a tree line! It is a deciduous upright tree with a spreading crown, reaching both a height and width of 20' x 25'+ after 25 years of growth. We find that this tree is very hardy with minimal problems with insects and disease. It is most comparable to its female parent, Prunus x yedoensis Yoshino, except for its slightly larger size and noticeably large pink flowers. This tree is a true winner, and we are quite impressed with its many positive characteristics. It is Highly recommended!

The Magnolia virginiana, Australis is an outstanding and beautiful tree with many great qualities. The Magnolia virginiana, Australis is an evergreen tree that retains most of its green leaves throughout the winter. It produces fragrant white flowers from May through August, and is a wildlife tree producing seeds that birds devour when ripe. The Australis is fast growing and grows well in either sun or shade. It is rare to find so many great qualities in just one tree. The Australis has a tendency to form multi-trunks like the straight species. We grow them as tree form, but they will grow additional trunks to add more width and screening to the tree over time.

The Stewartia pseudocamellia, Japanese Stewartia is an absolutely beautiful specimen that flowers from June through early August, and has striking leaves, flowers, and bark. It is one of our favorite trees, and is highly sought after, and quite hard-to-find. This specimen will reward every one who sees it throughout the year. They grow best in mixed sun and shade, especially being shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It is truly an exquisite and colorful tree.This particular specimen is highly recommended!
