Magnolia Ann is a very beautiful mid spring blooming magnolia that is less likely to suffer frost damage in spring. It is best grown in moist, organically rich, acidic, well-drained loam in full sun to part shade in a location protected from high winds (minimize potential damage to leaves). It is also recommended to avoid southern exposures close to houses where the buds may be induced to open too early in spring. It is a slow-growing, deciduous shrub or small tree that grows to 8-10 feet tall and as wide. Chalice-shaped flowers 7-9 inches long are slightly fragrant. Flowers may occasionally bloom in mid summer with the leaves turning yellow in the fall. USDA zones 4 – 8

The Magnolia virginiana, Australis is an outstanding and beautiful tree with many great qualities. The Magnolia virginiana, Australis is an evergreen tree that retains most of its green leaves throughout the winter. It produces fragrant white flowers from May through August, and is a wildlife tree producing seeds that birds devour when ripe. The Australis is fast growing and grows well in either sun or shade. It is hard to find so many great qualities in one tree.

The Helen Taft Cherry tree is a fantastic flowering cherry tree variety named after a female trailblazer in the early 1900's who also happened to be the wife of President Howard Taft. She was one of the key people who helped create the Cherry Blossom arboretum along the Potomac river bordering Washington DC and Virginia. This specimen is a outstanding flowering tree specimen, and would look great in a grouping, or in a tree line! It is a deciduous upright tree with a spreading crown, reaching both a height and width of 20' x 25'+ after 25 years of growth. We find that this tree is very hardy with minimal problems with insects and disease. It is most comparable to its female parent, Prunus x yedoensis Yoshino, except for its slightly larger size and noticeably large pink flowers. This tree is a true winner, and we are quite impressed with its many positive characteristics. It is Highly recommended!

These are luscious and extravagant dwarf trees to have in any garden. Even when not in bloom, the large leaves give an exotic look to add another dimension to your garden.
