Specialty Trees
A rare and exquisite maple variety from Asia that is very cold hardy and also displays gorgeous colors with its new spring growth and fall color. This is a perfect rare tree variety for a tree collector for their gardens. It would fit in well in a Japanese garden, or shade garden. We have a limited collection of these rare trees, and you will not find these anywhere else.
Flowering Trees
A precocious bloomer displaying very large 12" fragrant flowers in June. This is a dwarf variety of the straight macrophylla, aka Big Leaf Magnolia. It is a magnificent dwarf tree to be seen by all. Flowering Trees
The Stewartia pseudocamellia, Japanese Stewartia is an absolutely beautiful specimen that flowers from June through early August, and has striking leaves, flowers, and bark. It is one of our favorite trees, and is highly sought after, and quite hard-to-find. This specimen will reward every one who sees it throughout the year. They grow best in mixed sun and shade, especially being shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It is truly an exquisite and colorful tree.This particular specimen is highly recommended! We do limit ONE Stewartia per customer, please.
Flowering Trees
The American Yellowwood is a sought after fragrant and showy American native tree with beautiful white racemes flowers. It is a beautiful native tree with long graceful trunks and flowers around May/ June in USDA Zone 6. The white flowering racemes are quite showy.
Small Trees
Acer buergerianum 'Trident Maple' is a fascinating smaller maple known for its multi-colored leaves. It holds on to its leaves until November/ December and puts on a brilliant fall display of color. Although it is a smaller and very hardy tree, it has a nice dense canopy of leaves that provide some privacy aspects especially since the leaves are retained through November & December.
Wetland Trees
River Birch, 'Heritage'is a special cultivar with white and peach colored exfoliating bark. Please note that we sell the single trunk version only and these particular trees can grow up to 3' - 4' per year. They are hardy, more resistant to insects and disease, are well adapted to wet soils, and are fast growing. They also provide some screening with their branching.
Flowering Trees
Galaxy Magnolia welcomes in Spring with its beautiful deep pink to purple flowers, and is always an eye-opener to be seen and to be appreciated. It usually grows in a multi-stemmed, pyramidal tree-form with excellent branching habit. Galaxy Magnolia flowers late enough to avoid most late spring frost damage. it is a wonderful and hardy flowering landscape specimen adaptable to a wide range of soil conditions. USDA zones 5-9
The Honeylocust tree is an American native specie that is a favorite for any landscape. It makes a great shade tree. They are hardy trees for zone 6, 7 and will grow nicely in full sun to part shade. They are also great city street trees tolerating the summer heat well.
