Magnolia denudata, “Yulan Magnolia” is a highly revered tree in Asia, and is treasured for its beautiful goblet shaped white flowers and striking red summer fruits. Because of its rarity and the limited supply, we limit ONE Yulan Magnolia specimen per order, please.
Magnolia denudata – The Yulan magnolia also known as Lily Tree is a highly prized and exquisite white flowering tree. It truly is an outstanding flowering tree that typically grows 20-30 feet tall with a rounded spreading crown as it matures. Yulan magnolia produces gorgeous and fragrant goblet-shaped white flowers that bloom in the early spring. Flowers bloom before the leaves emerge. Flowers give way to cone-like fruits that mature to a striking red color in late summer, releasing individual red coated seeds at maturity. This tree specimen has been highly-revered in China for its beauty for well over 1,000 years, and women have been known to make a highly prized skin cream from the soft fragrant petals. Native Trees

These grow to 15' - 20' and are taller than wide. We grow single trunk specimens, but do have some multi-trunk as well. Shade Trees
Dawn Redwood is a magnificent deciduous tree. It has gorgeous soft green needles, and is a fantastic and inspiring tree to see and grow. Dawn Redwood is a magnificent deciduous tree, and is a relative of the California redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) and giant sequoia (Sequoiadendron giganteum), diverging around 150 million years ago. Dawn redwood prefers a wetter environment to grow, and it needs full sun to grow its best when it is a larger tree. We start these as 'understory' trees and they love the high open canopy above them giving the good indirect light. It does best in moist to wet soils, so it can be a good choice for large rain garden locations. As with all trees a good organic planting location would be ideal for these trees.
Small Trees
Prunus virginiana 'Canada Red' Chokeberry is a fast growing smaller native shade tree full of colorful red/ burgundy leaves, which is a great contrast to the many green leafed trees. The abundant small fruits are also red, and are a favorite of songbirds. It is a clean tree, and the fruits are retained on stem by the tree, and the birds eat the fruits while on the tree. Prunus virginiana Chokeberry is a brilliant and colorful performer. The Chokeberry tree is a wildlife tree attracting songbirds with its abundant small fruits. In addition, it is a pollinator tree, and will attract butterflies. This is a handsome small tree that contrasts and fits in nicely with other green foliage trees. You cannot go wrong with this tree, and it has many great attributes. Highly recommended!
Small Trees
Acer buergerianum 'Trident Maple' is a fascinating smaller maple known for its multi-colored leaves. It holds on to its leaves until November/ December and puts on a brilliant fall display of color. Although it is a smaller and very hardy tree, it has a nice dense canopy of leaves that provide some privacy aspects especially since the leaves are retained through November & December.
Flowering Trees
The Stewartia pseudocamellia, Japanese Stewartia is an absolutely beautiful specimen that flowers from June through early August, and has striking leaves, flowers, and bark. It is one of our favorite trees, and is highly sought after, and quite hard-to-find. This specimen will reward every one who sees it throughout the year. They grow best in mixed sun and shade, especially being shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It is truly an exquisite and colorful tree.This particular specimen is highly recommended!
