Magnolia virginiana, Henry Hicks Magnolia
Henry Hicks Magnolia is a smaller pyramidal shaped semi-evergreen magnolia that is unique and hard-to-find. This specimen can grow eventually to 20′ and has a more dense leaf foliage throughout its pyramidal shape even through winter. It can selectively be placed as a decorative privacy tree.
Henry Hicks Magnolia is a pyramidal shaped evergreen that is a very attractive variety of Sweetbay Magnolia. It is beautiful even in the winter, and very hard-to-find. Henry Hicks Magnolia has silver leaf undersides that are reflective at night. In zone 6 it will grow to a height of about 15′-20′ with a fairly dense foliage habit. USDA zones 5-9

Flowering Trees
The Helen Taft Cherry tree is a fantastic flowering cherry tree variety named after a female trailblazer in the early 1900's who also happened to be the wife of President Howard Taft. She was one of the key people who helped create the Cherry Blossom arboretum along the Potomac river bordering Washington DC and Virginia. This specimen is a outstanding flowering tree specimen, and would look great in a grouping, or in a tree line! It is a deciduous upright tree with a spreading crown, reaching both a height and width of 20' x 25'+ after 25 years of growth. We find that this tree is very hardy with minimal problems with insects and disease. It is most comparable to its female parent, Prunus x yedoensis Yoshino, except for its slightly larger size and noticeably large pink flowers. This tree is a true winner, and we are quite impressed with its many positive characteristics. It is Highly recommended!

Small Trees
Prunus virginiana 'Canada Red' Chokeberry is a fast growing smaller native shade tree full of colorful red/ burgundy leaves, which is a great contrast to the many green leafed trees. The abundant small fruits are also red, and are a favorite of songbirds. It is a clean tree, and the fruits are retained on stem by the tree, and the birds eat the fruits while on the tree. Prunus virginiana Chokeberry is a brilliant and colorful performer. The Chokeberry tree is a wildlife tree attracting songbirds with its abundant small fruits. In addition, it is a pollinator tree, and will attract butterflies. This is a handsome small tree that contrasts and fits in nicely with other green foliage trees. You cannot go wrong with this tree, and it has many great attributes. Highly recommended!
Flowering Trees
The Moonglow Magnolia is one of our favorite magnolias. It is a hard-to-find semi-evergreen retaining more than 50% of its leaves through the winter, and develops many flowering buds blooming June through August. It is a faster growing variety of Sweetbay Magnolia, and produces the same beautiful lemon scented flowers. This wonderful tree can be used as an all-season privacy tree to help block an undesirable view. The Moonglow Magnolia is also perfect for your outdoor living spaces. It offers that exotic look along with the many luscious flowers, and a heavenly fragrance from May through August. Scarlet Fire Dogwood has become one of the best pink dogwoods known for its disease resistance, deep pink color, and long bloom time! It is a 'patented' scarlet red flowering dogwood that is a beautiful sight to see. The Scarlet Fire Dogwood is a deep Pink and flowers last 3 - 4 weeks in May/June. These are smaller dogwoods growing up to 12' - 15', but are real performers with their gorgeous pink flowers. Because of the limited supply and its rarity, we limit ONE Scarlet Fire specimen per order, please.

The Stewartia pseudocamellia, Japanese Stewartia is an absolutely beautiful specimen that flowers from June through early August, and has striking leaves, flowers, and bark. It is one of our favorite trees, and is highly sought after, and quite hard-to-find. This specimen will reward every one who sees it throughout the year. They grow best in mixed sun and shade, especially being shaded from the hot afternoon sun. It is truly an exquisite and colorful tree.This particular specimen is highly recommended!
